Although he hasn't won this season, he has shown enough to suggest that a race like this is still well within his compass. His latest run at Redcar can be completely ignored, as he struggles to get a mile, and Class 4 is probably beyond him at the moment. Virtually all of his best performances have come here at Catterick, which gives further hope.

Evocative Spark looks well suited to the race conditions and has the profile to improve on recent efforts. A strong contender and one of my best bets of the day.

Two turf runs this year for the 3yo. Soft ground not helping last time out but he did win a 17 runner handicap on his previous start, the front two pulling 3L clear of the rest. Good trainer Grant Tuer has been patient with him and he should be ready after a three months break. Good jockey Oisin Orr takes over in the saddle and he has found something that clicks and at the time of writing he has ridden 10 winners in the last two weeks for a huge 38% strike rate.
