In what looks a very tight handicap, a chance is taken on the Jonny Portman-trained, Rob Hornby-ridden Strike. Well fancied LTO but was beaten a length off this mark here last time out 10 days ago. With conditions in his favour, another big run is expected.

Lequinto has been placed three times on standard ground, then finally managed a promising win on turf at Windsor, from which it has been raised only 3 lb. None of the others inspires enough confidence.

Slow away but made some headway inside the final furlong over 6 furlongs at Windsor in a Class 4 last time out. Will come on for 2 runs last month following an absence of 7 months and the slight drop in trip and ease in grade to Class 5 appeal.

Won twice last season off higher marks than today and, after three starts this term, could be ready to strike again. Has run well enough in those races where form has been boosted. Should be suited to this track.

Only 1-16 and yet to win a handicap but assesser is relenting and ran well off reduced mark when 4th on Windsor reappearance. Dropped another 2lb so should be capable of striking soon.

Class-dropping LAZZAR hasn't offered much on the flat of late, but comes up against lesser opposition now so might fare better. The form in this grade on the all-weather is impressive, and he's only a pound higher than when seen on the flat in a Class 5 at Windsor last season, when he was only beaten narrowly. Chance if running to that standard.
