You can forget his last run at Kempton, as he was unsuited by the slow AW surface that day. If he gets the fast pace he needs, he looks a good each-way bet here.

Mayor Of Maghera won a C6 in June with cheekpieces for the first time, but took on 2 lb and could only manage seventh in a C5. He goes again off the same mark but back in a C6 while retaining the headgear and could be worth an each-way.

Approaching Dawn won here three weeks ago after a duff start and could be worth a shot at getting a better start while up 5 lbs.

Hard to get away from the favourite, but this one represents some decent EW value after dropping to a very attractive-looking mark. Now six pounds lower than when beaten over CD ten months ago and could get involved at a big price.

Resumed winning ways in February, then a good second with the winner thriving at the moment. Likely to go well again. Big player.

Today's out-of-left-field recommendation is on a nine-race losing run, but he has dropped a couple of pounds below his last winning mark and should be all the better for last month's Ripon outing, his first for seven months. Could be overpriced.

Jim Goldie debuts one at Ayr, where he loves to find wins, and Mulreanan rides. Handicap debut for Spirit Of Nature, dropping back to a mile after one-and-a-half-mile maidens the last twice.
