Pearl Eye has won 8 of 46 starts and is proven in Class 4 company, with 3 wins from 22 attempts. His C&D record here is 1 win from 2 starts over this trip. He has also won 5 times on similar ground and 6 times in cheekpieces, which are back on today.

A previous course/ distance winner in April and a winner last time out must bring this one into the equation. With four places on offer, it does look a good each-way bet.

Obito: He has already shown enough ability to compete with these rivals and was only narrowly behind Pearl Eye previously. Better ground should suit, and the current 13/2 offers plenty of value in an open race.

Lorcan Waltz is second time up in a handicap and has a win on the board, winning a maiden at Beverley. Open to further improvement. William Haggis has a good strike rate at Ayr: 9-27 in the last five seasons.

That win 14 days ago was in a same as today class 4 over 1m 2f on good to firm at Windsor with rating 67. Different jockey on board today with rating going up a manageable two points to 69. Surprised to see the word soft in the forecast going but she's ran well enough on easy surfaces before.

Mano Chicago (6) returned from a long break in April and has been placed second in three of the five runs so far, including just one handicap run in April when 5/16 and just over 3L away from the winner off an 86. He has now changed yards and rider and dropped to a 78 for this return to handicaps. Worth an each-way 4/1.

He stands a chance to finish in the top spots at 12/1, provided he can bounce back on turf. Under the guidance of David Nolan, moving up to 1m 2f, his falling mark and history in Class 2/3 races make him a formidable contender if he regains his top form.

Could come on significantly for that race, and drops in trip with first time cheekpieces applied. Her mark is only five pounds above that carried to victory at Ffos Las last year, and she could surprise at huge odds.

This year he has had four runs and has yet to show, but he is coming back down the weights and is off his last winning mark. Back to 1 mile 2 after a run last time at 1 mile, and with the ground on the soft side he might outrun his odds.
