3:15 Ascot Tips

JPR One is a very talented 2-mile chaser whose stable could not be in better form. Has had a run to get fit and looks a solid each-way bet.

Kotmask ran second in this race last year off a mark of 130 in a series of three strong runs (form figures 221) in high grade handicap chases at Ascot last autumn. Ran well enough back here in March. Reappearance run at Fontwell was disappointing but it is hoped that was a prep run for returning to Ascot. Today's mark of 131 is 1 pound lower than last year and puts the 7yo at the bottom of the handicap. Trainers the Moores (SR 22%) and jockey Caoilin Quinn (SR 28%) come here in good form.

The form of his Aintree run last season was good, where only Kalif Du Berlais finished ahead. In the same race, L'ead Du Sud finished behind, who has since gone and looked class beating Jonbon. This horse should not be underestimated.

The Honeyball yard is double-handed and strong, and I go for what appears to be his second string in Gabrielle's Getaway. He's only lightly raced over fences and has won 4 and placed 3 in 10 goes so far. Since the wind op, he has had two races and been second each time, so has avoided penalties. Was a very close 2nd over CD last time behind overnight favorite Teddy Blue. He suffered in some rough riding and was gaining fast at the line, and that form could be reversed this time with Rex Dingle taking over.

Has an exceptional record here with three wins from four runs over fences. Boasts a very strong record when he is fresh, and although he is getting on a bit, a mark of 157 back in a handicap has to make him of interest in this race given the general body of work that he has produced through his career.

The Paul Nicholls trained 7yo got his act together in his final two starts during the spring, winning two quality £50K+ handicap chase races. He should be better for his return run three weeks ago. Top jockey Harry Cobden now takes over in the saddle and the youngster could take his form to another level in this campaign.

Shakeyatailfeather and Gabriels Getaway trailed the field for much of the way when Teddy Blue won here three weeks ago. Whilst Gabriels Getaway made late progress to chase down Teddy Blue in 2nd place, Shakeyatailfeather had a more troubled passage. First, finding room to move out and then having to jump over a faller two out, and could only manage to reach 5th place. Although still out of the handicap, Heidi Palin rides and takes off seven pounds, and she could finish much closer.

Won very nicely at Cheltenham last month. An improving horse at a big price, and the conditions should suit the horse well.
