3:10 Ascot Tips

Ran well as a two-year-old, winning three times. The final one came at Newmarket in September when landing the Middle Park Stakes over 6f. Looks one to follow this year in decent sprints.

Three of these runners met in a Group 1 last autumn. There was little between them when they finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This O'Brien runner went on to run a big race at the Breeders' Cup. The trainer of Coppull has yet to get going on Tuft this season, and Wise Approach is now giving weight away. The selection was very consistent last year and should be fine on his return.

2 wins and 2 seconds in the last 4 races. Odds shortening, so must be well fancied. Good chance for a place and a possible win.

Trip excuses the last twice over a mile and then 7f. This horse ran a decent race over course and distance in a time half a second slower than standard on good ground. He was bang there at the furlong marker last time before fading to 7th in the Greenham, so the step back in trip is sure to suit. His proven effort over this stiff 6 looks even better considering he was a touch outpaced but stayed on really strongly late on. He’s perhaps got something to find with the best of these, but is 5/5 a place at the trip (3 wins), while being 6/8 a place in fields of 11 or less. He’s got a 3/3 a place record off short layoffs of less than 14 days too, and is 1/1 under Probert.

Impressive when winning his first two races. Lost time out in France over 7f. Drops down in trip and, with the yard in fine form, warrants an each-way interest.
