This looks like a generally average lineup. Uncle Gerhard has the form on the board with an improver's second and comes in with a handy three-pound drop in weight with Aidan Kelly in the pigskin.

This is a very open race with cases that can be made for and against a lot of the field. Hackensack has been mixing chasing with hurdling this year and had a good 2nd over hurdles here at Christmas, so I will chance an each way.

His win came over hurdles at Clonmel on February 25, and he has been 4th in his last two chases at that course. He is a lb lower than his last winning mark, and ridden by the same amateur. Looks a good each-way bet with 5 places on offer.

This one is a bit risky, but the jockey booking catches my eye. Based on past form, he is on a competitive mark, but recent efforts have been disappointing. Nevertheless, with Jack Kennedy booked, it seems like better is expected today. Handles testing ground, so each-way chance.
