Genuine Article has only won one race and that was his 2nd run back in July 2023 in a maiden over a mile at Killarney. He has run thirteen times since without success but his 3rd place last week was only his second run since last September and he should have every chance dropped to his lowest ever mark of 80 in first time cheek pieces.

This gelding by Australia is well drawn and could be poised to strike now on his 3rd start for his current stable having been brought in from the all conquering Haggas yard. His third at Yarmouth on debut was behind a future Group winner and ahead of some horses rated around the 90 mark so considering that was his debut, I'd say he could well be up to winning this off 84.

A slight drop in class could give & ½ a furlong more could be just what the doctor ordered for Ross O'Sullivan's 5 year old German Gelding QUAR SHAMAR who 'Should/Could' be better now after his run 34 days ago at the Curragh where he was only 3½ furlongs off the winner keeping on after a 258 day sabbatical. Trainer Ross O'Sullivan has a respectable 28.57% win strike rate this past year here at Galway & you would find yourself in profit had you backed blindly each way every time trainer has hired Rider Donagh 'O Connor this past year (26.67% place strike rate). Look if we get a glimmer of the charge that finished just 4 lengths off Paddington in the 2023 Irish 2,000 Guineas then you would be foolish to totally write this German lad off BUT then again it's the Galway Festival so what do I know? Each way at 18/1 with 5 places is enough for me.

BRAVO ZULU has previously won over the distance. The horse did so last time out at Windsor, winning a Class 4 by a neck.

Has been running relatively well this year and has previously won at this track and run well over this course and distance. Holds an each-way chance.

They are stepping this up in trip slightly with a good 3 lbs claimer jockey booking/change. A good value each-way bet for the 5 places available.

This is mighty tough to break down with some of these which just met two days ago. One that caught the eye was Titanium. Always last, it made good headway but ran wide before finishing best of all under Nicola Burns. It gets a better draw today and a 7 lb claimer up in Gettigan, and the extra furlong looks sure to suit.

Won a handicap over this trip and is a front runner to dictate the race. Looks a big price in a wide-open race. Every chance.

Clear Quartz has done his best running at this venue with 3 course wins, including one at this festival last year. Versatile ground-wise, and Ronan Whelan picked up a winner in the last here yesterday.

Strong run when second to Masoun at Leopardstown (nine furlongs) on penultimate start. Likely still capable just 2 pounds higher than for that run. Chris Hayes rides for William Durkan (SR 20%). Decent draw in stall 3.
