Asfoora may not be at her best on rain-softened going, but the same applies to some of her rivals. She is drawn with Adrian Murray's pair on the far side of the course, so there will be plenty of pace on that side. She could hold on to the lead to the finish if she does not go off too fast.

ARIZONA BLAZE is a multiple winner at this venue and it could be worth remembering that this colt was sent off favourite for the recent Nunthorpe at York's festival. He could be one of the classier sprinters who would not necessarily be as dependant on ground conditions and with David Egan riding for high-profile owners Amo Racing he has claims.

Should sharpen up for a delayed seasonal debut at this track in August, when only beaten two lengths. He has shown some of his career best form when racing here in the past, and while five furlongs is probably on the short side for him these days, slower ground will help.

Whistlejacket is taken to score. Unlucky in the Commonwealth Cup when denied a clear run. Slowly away in the July Cup but still a respectable performance last time. Course and distance winner on second start at age two. Has had a break and first-time blinkers applied. Christophe Soumillion and Aidan O'Brien in decent form.

Nighteyes (IRE) is a 4-year-old bay filly by Night Of Thunder out of Penny Pepper, trained by David O’Meara, and will be ridden by Daniel Tudhope. She carries an official rating of around 105, reflective of her strong form at top sprinting level. Despite lacking a recent win, her record is solid: she finished a respectable 5th in the Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes at Curragh over 6f, and has placed in high-class sprints including a second at York. Her efforts show she stays the sprint distances and can handle Group company. The drop from 6f to 5f may sharpen her race, especially if she tracks close to the pace and is ridden with confidence. On yielding to good-to-yielding ground, she looks likely to appreciate the conditions, giving her a chance to outrun her odds. This is a red hot race here with some serious horses but her last win came over just shy of 6f on yielding ground with tudhope in the saddle and she's been in the mix with a couple of top sprinters recently so the bigger value stands out for me.
