Hainan Classic Tips

This looks like a great chance for Angel to win this event. He has the best driver in the field, and he is ranked 5th in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee. On this course that looks like a massive weapon.

Wenyi is a very good young talent. Last year she put in a couple of good rounds: 68 and 70. With another year’s experience and what looks like a very weak field, I fancy Wenyi to have a good weekend.

The Englishman won two starts ago, and he is a multiple DP World Tour winner now. Dan Bradbury will fancy his chances in China this week, and I am backing he challenges at the Hainan Classic.

11th last year at the Hainan Classic, and I am backing Eugenio Chacarra. He is going to challenge this week. The Spaniard has been top 25 three times in the last six, and I am going for Chacarra to be a challenge in Hainan.

Grant looked a good fit for this event and showed that last year when finishing 23rd. He was ranked 6th tee to green and 5th in his approach play. I fancy he will have another good week.

Lawrence has missed three of his last four cuts, but this looks weaker. Just prior to that, he finished 10th and 14th at the Dunhill and in Dubai, and that puts him right in the mix.

BRT played well in the recent Joburg Open after some patchy form and only missed the playoff by one stroke. Be looking to challenge again here.

Has some good stats, but it has been a long time since he won. He will be looking to find his old form here with a good week.

Sean Crocker finished in 2nd place in his debut at this event last year. He hasn't been at his best this year, with none of his four performances inside the top thirty.

Has struggled recently, so is a poor price, but is a player with multiple wins on tour. If he gets on a roll of momentum, he could challenge.

Freddy won in Bahrain, and that course is a little like this one. It rewards big hitters off the tee with forgiving fairways. With that in mind, I fancy Freddy can go close this weekend.

Max struggled early in the season but has found some solid form coming into this event. In Kenya he hit two rounds of 66 before fading. Then in Joburg he was leading after round one, only to finish 15th. In that form he has a chance this weekend.

RCB has the second-best stats for approach to the green in the field. However, he needs the putter to light up, as his putting is well down, losing strokes on the field. He placed 87th on tour.

Very high price. He is second for greens in regulation and first in putts not in the field, but he needs to light up the putter here to pull off a huge upset.

Dan Bradbury won last time out at the Joburg Open. It was his best performance across seven events this year. His driving accuracy and approach play could be enough to see him place here.

Grant Forrest's seventh-place finish at the Bahrain Championship has been his best performance across the four events he has participated in this year.
