  Scheffler tuned up nicely with another top 10 finish last week at the Scottish Open. I'm not sure it did Rory too many favors to go so close fitness-wise, so Scottie is the obvious choice, as boring as it is.

  Wouldn't it be fantastic to see Tommy win his first major here? He is just so consistent. Despite letting himself down in the US when he looked like he had his first PGA Tour win in his grasp and bogeyed the last to hand it to Keegan Bradley, I always feel he's the main European in the field that will always give his running.

  For me, Eckroat, I think, is a cracking bet here. He had lost his form with 6 missed cuts in 9 events a few months back, but he has definitely found something, making 7 cuts in a row and blasting out leading events with very low first rounds, such as the Travelers Championship with a 62 and his last event at the John Deere Classic with a 63, telling you how close he is to finding something. He finished 11th there. We must not forget he was twice a winner in 2024 at the Cognizant and the World Wide Technology. Both were decent fields, especially the Cognizant, so he knows how to get the job done. He's coming into form perfectly for this event as he's no stranger to going low. At 40-1, he's the bet of the weekend in any golf event for me.
