  • Victor Wembanyama is now -20000 to be the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.
  • San Antonio had a 14% chance of winning the NBA Draft Lottery.
  • The next four picks in the top five after San Antonio are Charlotte, Portland, Houston, and Detroit.

The NBA Draft will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on June 22, 2023. The NBA Draft Lottery helped set the order of picks last month. The San Antonio Spurs won the lottery and own the first overall pick. One of the worst-kept secrets in sports is that the Spurs will be taking Victor Wembanyama first overall. He is currently priced at -20000 to be the first overall pick. This equates to a 99.5% likelihood that he hears his name first from Commissioner Adam Silver. As for the second overall pick, there is no consensus among NBA journalists or sportsbooks as to who will be drafted after Wembanyama. The odds list Scoot Henderson as a slight favorite, but there are plenty of conceivable options on the futures board.

Second Overall Pick In The 2023 NBA Draft

Player Moneyline Probability
Scoot Henderson -150 60%
Brandon Miller -115 53.49%
Amen Thompson
+4500 2.17%
Ausar Thompson +5000 1.96%
Jarrace Walker
+6000 1.64%
Victor Wembanyama
+10000 0.99%
Cam Whitmore
+11000 0.90%
Anthony Black +11000 0.90%

The Hornets are certainly interested in adding a wing or point guard to their starting lineup, which explains why Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller are the top two options on the board. Scoot Henderson is an explosive 6-foot-2 point guard who turned heads in the G-League last year. Miller opted to go the college route and played at a National Player of the Year level for the majority of the season in Tuscaloosa. Miller finished his true freshman season embroiled in legal drama, but he was still able to average 18.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while carrying the Crimson Tide to regular season and conference tournament titles. The rest of the board is filled with long shots, ranging from the Thompson brothers to Anthony Black out of Arkansas. Odds will update in real-time on draft night, so it's a good practice to have multiple sportsbook apps open at the same time to grab the best odds available.
