Scoreless First Half

In total, 979 hosts went in at halftime having failed to score in the first half, so how does that convert to second-half goals?

Only 372 of those (38%) also failed to score in the second half meaning that 62% of those who failed to score in the first half went on to score in the second half.

Another impressive number is that 63% of the hosts who went in at halftime having scored one goal then also went on to score at least one in the second half too, 463 from 733 teams.

Follow the Hosts!

When the hosts either didn't score or scored just one goal in the first half, an incredible 62.5% of those went on to score in the second half of the game!

Best MLS Teams for Over 2.5 Goals

The most popular wager on the total goals market is using the 2.5 line and the over wager has been the most successful in the MLS with 57% of games having 3+ goals compared to 43% having fewer.

The 57% is quite a high number, the English Premier League last season only saw 53% of games go over, the Spanish La Liga was much lower with only 48%, and the league is more on par with the German Bundesliga, which had 59% last season.

In terms of which teams are involved in the largest percentage of games that have three or more goals then it is the Los Angeles Galaxy who top the list with 64% of their games (99-155) having three or more goals.

Twelve of the MLS teams have seen 60%+ of their games involve three or more goals and nineteen have seen 55%+ all bar three have seen over 50% of their games go over 2.5 goals and the only teams who haven't are New York City FC (48%), NY Red Bulls (47%) and Nashville SC (41%).
