Snake Arena 2 Slot (Relax Gaming)

The Snake Arena 2 slot is played on 6 reels, 4 rows and 14 fixed paylines. A winning outcome is formed by landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 matching symbols across adjacent reels along 1 or more paylines, starting from the leftmost reel. Only the highest paying combination on each payline will be paid.

With a futuristic/sci-fi theme, the Snake Arena 2: Kinesis Unleashed slot is the sequel to Snake Arena (released in January 2020). In this instalment, you join slayers take on a robotic snake.

The original game has a medieval theme whereas this version is set in the distant future. In my opinion, Relax Gaming has gone in the direction of Money Train 4 where the classic Wild West theme was revamped to have a more futuristic and steampunk feel.

The setting is what appears to be a mechanic vault. On the reels, you’ll come across low-value diamonds, clubs, hearts and spades. The higher-value symbols include robotic insects: the best paying symbol is the red robot insect as it pays 1, 3, 10 or 20 x bet for 3, 4, 5 or 6 across a payline.

With a wild symbol that substitutes for all paying symbols above, 6 in combination pays 20 x your total bet. The other important symbol is the Bonus Scatter: this allows you to pick from 2 free spins features.

Snake Arena 2 Mobile

Relax Gaming slots use HTML5 technology, meaning they are playable on mobile, tablet and desktop devices. If you play on an iOS or Android smartphone, you’ll play using the Portrait Mode (to make better use of the vertical screen setup). For the full visual effect, a laptop or PC would be my preference.

Snake Arena 2 comes with plenty of bonus features, including a Wild Chase, the choice between Slayer Free Spins or Arena Spins and ‘Super’ variants.

Wild Chase

The Wild Chase feature is activated when the Snake above the reels awakens: the Snake then hunts for the slayers and bet multipliers they carry. On each spin, 1 to 5 slayers appear at the bottom, each containing a multiplier from 2x up to 1000x.

When a Wild symbol lands above a Slayer, its multiplier value is projected to the Wild and its multiplier value applies to all wins including that Wild symbol.

If the Snake’s selected reel contains a Slayer at its base, the Slayer will defend the Snake’s decent, creating a Wild Reel that contains the Slayer’s multiplier value. The Wild Chase continues until all Slayers have protected their reels or the Snake chooses a reel with no Slayer as its base. When multiplier reels are converted wild, their multiplier values are added together.

Pick Mode

Landing 3 Bonus Scatter symbols will give you a choice of 2 bonus modes: the Slayer Free Spins or the Arena Spins. If you land 4 Bonus Scatter symbols, you’ll choose from the Super Slayer Free Spins or Super Arena Spins. Below are the details:

Slayer Free Spins

In the Slayer Free Spins feature, you begin with 5 free spins. The Snake always awakens to hunt Slayers (like in the Wild Chase feature). If you land 3 Bonus Scatters, 5 extra free spins will be awarded. If you land 4 Bonus Scatters, you’ll get 5 extra free spins and upgrade to the Super Slayer Free Spins feature.

The Super Slayer Free Spins feature is also triggered by landing 4 Bonus Scatters in the base game. When the Slayer defends itself against a Snake attack, it turns the reels wild, applying its multiplier. Wild reels remain until the end of the feature.

When the Slayer defends the same reel from attack, the multiplier increases up to 10x. Landing 3 Bonus Scatters will award 5 additional free spins.

Arena Spins

If you choose the Arena Spins feature, you’ll get 5 free spins that take place on a 6x6 grid. Playing in the Snake Area, this strategic battlefield has lots of distractions for the Slayer to use in order to outwit the Snake.

With each free spin, Snake Eggs and feature symbols will drop onto the grid, with the Snake and Slayer then added. The Snake slithers towards the Slayer, collected and removing symbols in its path. Uncollected feature symbols and Snake Eggs remain in position. The symbols that can land are as follows:

• Snake Eggs: they carry a bet multiplier value. Bronze Eggs are worth 1 to 19 x bet with Silver Eggs worth 20 to 99 x bet. Golden Eggs are worth 100 x bet or higher.
• Green Feature: collects all visible values that are in play in the arena.
• Red Feature: reveals a bet multiplier value and adds it to all other in play symbols in the arena.
• Red & Green Feature: collects and combines all visible values in play from the arena and then pays the new total value back to all collected symbols.
• Gold Feature: the current total win amount is paid to all in play symbols in the arena.
• Red & Green Triangle: reveals a minimum 10 x bet multiplier value and adds its value to all in play symbols in the arena. New values are collected from all symbols in play and added to its own. The new combined total is paid to all symbols involved in the process.
• SNAKE: collect all the letters in the Snake Area to spell S, N, A, K and E for instant upgrade to the Super Snake Arena feature.
• Blue & Gold: they increase the available rows during the Arena Spins (from the top, bottom or both).
• Free Spins: Adds the number of free spins on display to your total.
• Lock: on available from a Loot Box, it adds 2x to 4x to the Slayer’s shield and causes him to jump 1 reel to the right for extra prizes. The total win from that free spin will be subject to a 5x multiplier.
• Loot Box: this awards 1 of the above rewards. Snake Eggs awarded from the Loot Box will be worth at least 50 x.

The Super Snake Arena feature is also played when you land 4 Bonus Scatters during the base game. With rows 1 and 8 unlocking for an 8x8 arena, feature symbols remain in play throughout the feature. They can be activated multiple times for bigger win potential.

The Snake Arena 2: Kinesis Unleashed slot is worlds apart from the original. With the first game having a medieval theme, this version is futuristic as well as packed with lots of features and extra.

The original Wild Chase feature is still present but Relax Gaming has added multipliers up to 1000x. In the original game, the Free Spins feature saw the snake move towards the knight like in the popular Snake game available on old Nokia devices. The big extra in that was a 1,000 x bet jackpot if the snake fills reels 2 to 5 entirely.

In Snake Arena 2, you have a dual bonus. In the Slayer Free Spins feature, the Snake always awakens. In the ‘Super’ version, the Slayer defends itself against a snake attack, turns the reel wild and applies its multiplier (up to 10x): wild reels also remain in play throughout the feature.

I do prefer the Arena Spins feature though: on each free spin, the Snake slithers towards the Slayer, collecting feature symbols along the way. Golden Eggs are the most valuable or the eggs but the Gold Feature symbol is my favourite as it adds the total win amount to all in play symbols (especially if you land it once you’ve accumulated a decent amount).

I also really like the Red and Green Triangle symbols: they add significant value to all in play symbols with the new values collected and added to its own: then the new combined value is paid to all symbols involved. Look out for the Lock symbol as it adds up to 4x to the Slayer’s shield and makes him shift 1 reel right for even more prizes. The Super Arena Spins feature is the ultimate goal as feature symbols lock in position, for even higher win potential.

With 50,000 x bet max wins, Snake Arena 2 is one of Relax Gaming’s highest-paying slots, destroying the 2,758.8 x bet max win from the first Snake Arena game. Overall, the theme/graphics are much better, there are more bonus features/extras and the max win potential has been significantly enhanced. What more could you want?
