With a food theme, the Donuts slot has an Americana feel. It is based on 321 Donuts which is set somewhere on a desert highway. According to Big Time Gaming, it’s a historical joint venture between a donut shop and space exploration programme which begin in the 1950s and was set up by José Cavadoré who features in the Bonanza Megaways and Extra Chilli Megaways slots.
With clear blue skies and the 321 Donuts shop/diner in the backdrop, the soundtrack is a little muffled but is upbeat. The 4x4 grid appears to be within a jukebox which ties into the 1950s feel. Bright and colourful, it will remind you of Homer Simpson and The Simpsons.
On the reels, the low-value symbols include A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 royals where you need 4 to appear on any way for a win. The higher-value symbols include green, breen red and purple donuts with the latter the most rewarding. 4 purple donuts will pay 15 times your total bet.
Donuts also comes with several special symbols. First up is the Jukebox Wild symbol which only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. It substitutes for all symbol highlighted above. The Free Spins feature is triggered by landing 3 or 4 Gold Donut Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. With 12 or 20 free spins awarded respectively, a Bonus Countdown begins with 3 respins.
The Bonus Countdown is played on a new set of reels with only blank symbols and Gold Donuts. Each triggering scatter awards a 1x multiplier.
Each Gold Donut that lands will increase the Free Spins Multiplier up to 50x. When you land no new Gold Donuts and the number of respins reaches zero, the Free Spins feature commences.
