I got on the wrong side of the Extreme volatility of this NoLimit City game, although 20 wins from 100 spins does fall into the high frequency category, at an average of 1.02x per win, the session returned and RTP of a paltry 20.45% - Fat bastard obviously got there before me!!

Very little to report, perhaps a little more lucky with the spreading multiplier and things could have been different, but in the 100 spins, I didn't even get near to landing the scatters for a bonus round which can always mean anything on these games

With a main character delicately named Fat Bastard and bonus rounds entitled Order Up!, FEDCON1, and Heart Attack. Nolimit City have not disappointed us. They’ve created this game in their usual trailblazing and outrageous style.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

Surprisingly, the base game looked tame when we first started playing which struck us as odd for a Nolimit City game. But then the belching sound effects kicked in and we played the bonus rounds we breathed a sigh of relief. It was up to its usual outrageous standard!

Initially, the food shown on the reels of the base game looked appetising. Hey, they’ve even used some of our favourite foods (sushi, pizza and salmon if you're interested). But those thoughts were soon banished when we played the bonus rounds with Fat Bastard. 

When flipping into the bonus rounds a slick image of a menu and waiter image pops up. The background image across the base and bonus games shows a traditional restaurant throughout the experience.

The music is a jazzy little number which you might expect to hear in an actual restaurant which was a smart touch. However, we have some sound effects thrown in to set the scene. These include  plates being rattled about and booming burps from the main man himself.

Theme – Overeating

The game’s summary gets straight to the point; “Diets? Exercise? Not for us. We hope you're in the mood for food, cos we're flipping the food pyramid upside down - and stuffing it right into this fat bastard's mouth.” Nolimit City is not known for beating around the bush.

Checking the paytable is straightforward. It lists all of the symbols and their values. In order of value, they are; pizza, pasta, desserts, beer, savoury cake, side salad, sushi, salmon and apple salad.

In addition, there are two Scatter Symbols available depicted by a silver bell and a gold bell. 

Reels

The Gluttony slot game has a classic 5-reel and 5-row setup. On the grid, winning combinations will be destroyed and the remaining symbols will tumble down, allowing for the new symbols to fall in.

Wild Shape

The Wild Symbol is represented by a ‘W’ in the Gluttony game. It’s actually named the Wild Pot Feature and acts like a traditional Wild.

If the Wild Pot contributes to a win, it will try to collect any nearby food symbols, horizontally & vertically, increasing its multiplier for each by;

If the Wild Pot manages to collect, the Wild Pot will become sticky with an increased multiplier for one more hit, otherwise it gets removed.

Free Spins

The different Free Spins rounds are triggered by combinations of Silver and Golden Bell Scatter symbols:

- 3 Silver Scatters = 8 Free spins of "Order Up!"

- 1 Golden and 2 Silver Scatters = 10 spins of "Double Up!" and an x2 multiplier

- 2 Golden and 1 Silver Bell Scatter = 12 spins of "Quadruple Up!" and an x4 multiplier

- 3 Golden Bell Scatters = Will award +6 spins and enter "FEDCON 1"

Every Golden Bell adds +2 free spins and increases the current multiplier by x2.

Gluttony has 2 types of Scatter symbols: Silver Bell Scatter and Golden Bell Scatter. Silver Bell Scatter symbols can only land on reels 2-4. Golden Bell Scatter symbols can only land on reel 3, with no more than 1 per spin.

Golden Bell Spins -

Landing 1 Golden Bell activates Golden Bell Spins and awards +2 respins and an x2 multiplier. Landing another Golden Bell in Golden Bell Spins will award +2 respins and the multiplier goes to x4. 3 Golden Bells won in succession will trigger FEDCON 1. 

ORDER UP! -

For every Golden Bell landed, "Order Up!" will upgrade and award +2 spins and increases the multiplier by x2. If a golden Bell lands and the current multiplier is x4 the Order up! will be upgraded to FEDCON 1 and awards +6 spins. 

FEDCON 1 -

Landing 3 Golden Bell Scatters awards +6 spins. Every win goes from Fat Bastard as it is the starting point for any win. For every new level reached, +2 free spins are awarded, +1 multiplier on Fat Bastard and triggers a respin. In order to upgrade to upper levels the player needs to collect the following number of winning Symbols:

- Level 2 = 20
- Level 3 = 30
- Level 4 = 40
- Level 5 = 50

At the end of this round your wins will be combined and collected. Then Fat Bastard will make an exit with a loud and long burp as he demands more food be brought to the table. 

Jackpot

Play Experience & First Impressions

The theme, imagery, music and sound effects are top-class and we really enjoyed playing this recent release.

When we first saw the game name we were intrigued by the name. The theme does work well for a slot and is certainly original. Once we started playing, the style was instantly recognisable as a Nolimit City title. They’re definitely not afraid to push the boundaries. The base game grabbed our attention as all of Nolimit City’s games do. The base game does what it says on the tin. Like most modern-day slot games the bonus games are the star attractions. 

It’s always exciting to try out a new game feature and the xZone Sauce was one of the highlights of our play experience. We enjoy multiplier features and these +1 multipliers are applied on every regular paying symbol and Wild adjacent to them on the grid which is pretty nifty. FEDCON 1 was also a huge highlight. It was fun trying to increase the number of winning symbols to try and make our way up to the next Free Spins level. 

The 3,125 paylines are pretty good going if that’s something that appeals to you. The volatility is the highest we’ve seen in a while. Nolimit City scored it at 10 which is the highest level available so again this may or may not appeal to you. It will certainly appeal to those looking for bigger prizes. 

When writing this review the saying about eyes being bigger than our belly sprang to mind. We certainly think Fat Bastard should bear this in mind next time he visits a restaurant!

Would we recommend this game? Yes, absolutely. We got a real kick out of it, the theme works well and the bonus features were innovative which made it a fantastic gaming experience.
