Yungblud Favourite to Portray Ozzy Osbourne in Biopic After Rockstar’s Passing

Following the death of Ozzy Osbourne on last month, attention now turns to the long-anticipated biopic of the Black Sabbath frontman's life.

Betting odds already have a strong frontrunner for who could play the Prince of Darkness.

Yungblud has emerged as the 1/1 favourite to take on the role in the Sony-produced project, after developing a close friendship with Ozzy in recent years.

The Doncaster-born singer famously performed “Changes” at the Black Sabbath farewell concert at Villa Park last month in what was an emotional performance.

Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne confirmed in July that the film now has a director, completed script, and backing from Sony Studios.

What the expert says...
Yungblud's bond with Ozzy in recent years makes him a sentimental and symbolic choice. But with Sony behind this, don’t rule out a bigger box office name like Taylor-Johnson.

Osbourne Legacy and the Role of a Lifetime

Casting Ozzy won’t be easy.

It’s a role that demands not just musical charisma, but the ability to capture one of rock's most unpredictable, misunderstood and iconic figures.

While Yungblud ticks the boxes for musical credibility and physical likeness, Jack O’Connell and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are both serious contenders thanks to their strong acting credentials.

Timothée Chalamet, fresh off high-profile roles, could also be a wildcard if Sony aims to appeal to a younger, global audience.
