Kylian Mbappe now the 8/15 favourite to win the Golden Boot at the Qatar World Cup

France superstar forward Kylian Mbappe is the 8/15 favourite with bookies to win the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot after another brace on Sunday.

Mbappe's two goals against Poland saw him go two goals clear for the Golden Boot ahead of Spain's Alvaro Morata and Argentina's Lionel Messi who both have 3 goals and 1 assist.

Bet365 make Mbappe the clear favourite to win the Golden Boot and give him a 65% chance of doing so according to the latest odds.

His 5 goals put him two clear of any other player behind him but Morata still has a round of 16 game to play against Morocco on Tuesday.

World Cup Golden Boot Winner Odds Probability
Kylian Mbappe 8/15 65.2%
Lionel Messi 9/1 10.0%
Richarlison 16/1 5.9%
Alvaro Morata 16/1 5.9%
Kylian Mbappe is the clear favourite at 8/15 to win the Golden Boot after another brace on Sunday saw him move two goals clear at the top of the top scorer list! His two assists also help if it comes to a tiebreak for the award.

Current Golden Boot Standings including goals and assists

The Golden Boot is awarded to the player with the most goals at the FIFA World Cup with Harry Kane winning the 2018 award.

If there is a tiebreaker for the award, the Golden Boot will then be given to the player with the most non-penalty goals.

After that, the Golden Boot is then given to the player with the most assists as the next tiebreaker followed by least minutes played.

  • Kylian Mbappe - France - 5 Goals, 2 Assists
  • Alvaro Morata - Spain - 3 Goals, 1 Assist
  • Lionel Messi - Argentina - 3 Goals, 1 Assist
  • Marcus Rashford - England - 3 Goals
  • Bukayo Saka - England - 3 Goals
  • Olivier Giroud - France - 3 Goals
  • Cody Gakpo - Netherlands - 3 Goals

Brazil remain the favourites to win the World Cup at 5/2

It's no surprise that Brazil remain the outright favourites to win the World Cup after their impressive performances in their first two games of the tournament.

Their final group game though saw them make numerous changes and lose 1-0 to Cameroon so they are beatable.

Bookmakers though make them 5/2 to win the tournament with France the second favourites after they soared through to the Quarters.

World Cup 2022 Winner Odds Probability
Brazil 5/2 28.6%
France 9/2 18.2%
Argentina 11/2 15.4%
England 6/1 14.3%
Spain 8/1 11.1%
