Apple now 1/3 to gain worldwide rights for F1 following reports of bid

Bookies are now offering odds on Apple to gain the worldwide rights to Formula 1 following reports linking the company with purchasing the rights for $2 billion.

BusinessF1 magazine reported that Apple will bid for the rights to F1 in a deal that could cost $2b a year which is more than double of what it's currently worth now.

The deal on offer would see Apple have a “sliding scale of exclusivity” starting at 25% and going up to 100% after the current broadcast contracts expire.

The current process for F1 rights sees a country-by-country scale with companies such as Sky in the UK having their own rights and so on.

Betting odds now suggest there's a 75% chance that Apple gains the full worldwide rights to F1 from 2025 onwards.
