Tiger Woods big odds to finish in the Top 10 at the 2022 Masters tournament
Tiger Woods returned to action with his 12 year old son Charlie Woods at the Father-Son PNC Championship in December.
This caused bookmakers to instantly price up specials for Tiger Woods to compete competitively in 2022's various Major tournaments.
Woods is 8/1 to finish in the Top 10 at the 2022 Masters, having won the event back in 2019.
Charlie Woods and Tiger finished runner's up at the PNC Championship and although Tiger has claimed he's far from a return competitively, this may have proved he's ready to come back.
Tiger Woods set for a big comeback across different events this year
Tiger Woods return last month has made bookies scramble around to make odds for the big Majors in 2022.
Golfing Event in 2022 | Tiger Woods Odds | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
The Masters (7-10 April) | 60/1 | 1.6% |
US PGA (19-22 May) | 60/1 | 1.6% |
US Open (16-19 June) | 70/1 | 1.4% |
The Open (14-17 July) | 50/1 | 2% |
The Masters is the most recent Major that Woods won, but odds of 60/1 suggest that this isn't the best chance he has at an event.
The Open in July over at St Andrews is the lowest odds for Woods to win a Major, with odds of 50/1 offered by bookies.
50/1 though is obviously still a big price, but for Golf events it's not massive in comparison to some other big golfers.
With Woods again making it clear that he's still a long way away in terms of his recovery, there's a decent chance he may not play in any Majors in 2022.
