Will Mellor is straight into 6/4 with bookies after joint top score in first week

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing started at the weekend and bookies have already made Will Mellor the new favourite after the first set of dances.

Manchester actor Mellor got a joint top score of 34 with Hamza Yassin also getting 34 from the judges in the first show.

Paddy Power have instantly made Mellor the 6/4 favourite, coming in from the 11/2 that he was on Friday before the first celebrity dances.

Strictly Come Dancing Winner Odds Probability
Will Mellor 6/4
Helen Skelton 9/2
Fleur East 9/2
Kym Marsh 9/1
Tyler West 9/1

Hamza Yassin is 12/1 to win the show despite also getting 34 points alongside Will Mellor with bookmakers not shortening his odds further.

Next weekend's show will see the first dancer leave, with Tony Adams favourite to go after his poor showing in Week One.

Will Mellor is straight into 6/4 favourite to win Strictly after a terrific first dance left him joint top with 34 points alongside Hamza Yassin.

Former favourite Helen Skelton drifts out to 9/2 to win

Helen Skelton was the early bookies favourite at 7/2 before the show started but has drifted out to joint second favourite at 9/2.

Skelton appeared on the Christmas version of the show back in 2012 and 10 years later she is starring on the full series.

The judges gave her 26 points for her opening dance this year and that left Skelton joint 6th in the table.

Bookies however still give her a good chance of winning the show this series at 9/2.

Motsi Mabuse 7/4 favourite to be the first judge to award 10 points in this year's series

Motsi Mabuse is still 7/4 favourite to be the first judge to award 10 points in this year's Strictly series.

Motsi gave the first 10 of last year's series to Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu and bookies make her favourite to do the same again this year.

That 10 came in Week Three so we may see it happen sooner than we think.

First Judge to give 10 points Odds Probability
Motsi Mabuse 7/4 36.4%
Anton du Beke 2/1 33.3%
Shirley Ballas 2/1 33.3%
Craig Revel Horwood 6/1 14.3%
Motsi Mabuse is the bookies favourite to be the first judge this year to give a 10. Motsi gave the shows first 10 last year in Week Three.
