Lando Norris has been the biggest market mover in recent weeks to win Sports Personality of the Year
Formula 1 star Lando Norris has now shortened into second favourite with UK Betting Sites to win the 2024 Sports Personality of the Year award after his fight for the F1 Drivers Championship has continued into the final weeks of the season.
The end of August saw Norris sit at 25/1 in the market to win the SPOTY award but fast forward just a little over a month later and he's now second favourite behind Keely Hodgkinson in the latest market.
Lewis Hamilton is the most-recent winner of the Sports Personality of the Year award to come from Formula 1 with the British driver winning it on two occassions in 2014 and 2020.
Norris is the natural replacement in these shortlists for Hamilton as his chase for winning the title in his McLaren this season continues and his team winning the Constructors Championship could even see him finish on the shortlist for the award this year even if he doesn't win the Drivers.
Bet365's latest betting odds give an implied probability of 18.2% that Norris wins the SPOTY award later this year with his chances growing in the market compared to last month where it was just 3.8%.
2024 Sports Personality of the Year Winner | Odds | Probability |

Olympian Keely Hodgkinson remains the betting favourite to win the award this year
Keely Hodgkinson's fantastic display at the Paris Olympics has seen her continue to be the betting favourite to be crowned 2024's Sports Personality of the Year.
Hodgkinson had been backed into favourite before the Olympics had even started with shrewd punters placing bets on her winning the award based on a successful Olympics showing.
Paris' Olympic Games saw the middle-distance runner win the gold medal in the 800 metres in dominant fashion with a time of 1 minute and 56.72 seconds.
The 22-year-old now has a 71.4% chance of crowning off a hugely successful year with a Sports Personality of the Year award to put with her Olympic Gold.

Former favourite Luke Littler drifts out to 8/1 in the market
Luke Littler has seen a case of success coming to soon in the year which we've seen many times before as his chances of winning the SPOTY award now drift out to 8/1.
Littler became a household name right at the beginning of 2024 after reaching the World Darts Championship final in his debut outing at the event.
The 17-year-old Darts player has gone from strength-to-strength since then including winning the Premier League Darts and World Series of Darts competition.
Despite being favourite at the start of the year to win the award, Littler is now third favourite in the betting market at 8/1 to be crowned champion.
