Bookies give odds of 12/1 that the Pound drops below the Euro in 2022
This time last year was one of the lowest lows for the Pound compared to the Euro, with the exchange rate at 1.10 for the Euro compared to 1 Great British Pound.
Fast forward 12 months and there hasn't been a massive change in terms of value for both currencies, with the Pound the equivalent to 1.20 Euro now.
With betting sites offering odds of 12/1 for the Pound to drop below the Euro in 2022, bookies don't feel there's a massive chance with just a 7.7% implied probability based on the odds.
This looks even more unlikely with the fact that the Pound to Euro exchange is at the highest that it has been in nearly two years, since February 2020.

January 6th 2021 was the lowest rate that the Euro has been compared to the pound at 1.10.
Ever since that date the Euro has risen and risen compared to the pound and we're now at one of it's highest points in the last 2 years.

British Pound rates compared to other currencies
The Great British Pound has had a mixed year in 2021, with the Pound dropping by 3% compared to the Dollar across the last 12 months.
Sterling rose after the UK's vaccine rollout went so successfully, but the rise of the Omicron variant has seen figures start to drop again.
