  • One Battle After Another 4/7 favourite to win Best Picture at Oscars 2026
  • Hamnet second favourite at 11/4, with Sinners back at 10/1
  • DiCaprio also leads Best Actor betting for One Battle After Another

One Battle After Another Odds-On Favourite

The Oscars 2026 Best Picture betting market has a clear frontrunner, with One Battle After Another now odds-on at 4/7 with bet365 to claim the Academy’s top prize.

Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film has been lauded for its sweeping narrative and powerhouse performances and bookmakers have responded by placing it well clear of the chasing pack.

Having stormed into early favouritism, One Battle After Another is attracting heavy punter interest thanks to its blend of critical acclaim and awards buzz.

The film’s leading man Leonardo DiCaprio is also strongly tipped for individual honours at the upcoming awards season.

Can Hamnet Close the Gap?

The main challenger appears to be Hamnet at 11/4, an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s celebrated novel.

Strong performances and its Shakespearean backdrop give it the prestige credentials to mount a late charge.

However, with One Battle After Another already odds-on, Hamnet will likely need a sweep of precursor awards (Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Critics’ Choice) to close the gap in the betting.

Beyond the two frontrunners, the market stretches out.

Sinners (10/1) has been praised for its ambitious storytelling but remains an outsider, while Sentimental Value (14/1) and Marty Supreme (14/1) round out the top five as long-shots.

Historically, Oscars Best Picture has occasionally thrown up surprise winners but the odds suggest it will take something extraordinary to derail One Battle After Another.

What Happens Next?

Awards season momentum often shifts in December and January when critics’ groups and guilds start handing out their honours.

For now, One Battle After Another is the film to beat, but punters know the Oscars can spring surprises late in the campaign.
