Christopher Nolan now 6/4 favourite to win his first ever Best Director Oscar
Iconic filmmaker Christopher Nolan is the 6/4 favourite with bookmakers to win the Best Director award at the 2024 Oscars for the incredible Oppenheimer which was released last month.
Nolan has received 5 nominations so far in his career at the Oscars but has surprisingly yet to win Best Director, Best Picture of even Best Adapted Screenplay in the 22 years since his first nomination.
Next year could change all that though with Oppenheimer ticking a lot of boxes that the Academy loves including it being a biopic with a massive cast and crew that is full of big names.
The latest betting odds now say there's a 40% chance that Nolan wins Best Director and it wasn't until 2017 release Dunkirk that he was even nominated for the award.

Martin Scorsese is loved by the Academy and it's extremely likely that he'll be nominated for Best Director next year with his current record making him the most-nominated living director of the award.
Scorsese has been nominated for Best Director nine times in his career with 1 win out of those 9 for 2007 movie The Departed and Killers of the Flower Moon could make it 10 nominations.
Killers of the Flower Moon is expected to be a major player at the Oscars next year with Leonardo DiCaprio playing a starring role in the Apple Original movie.
