Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the favourite with bookmakers to win the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize as betting odds continue to be offered for the award.
The Nobel Prizes are usually awarded towards the back end of the year with the winner expected to be announced in October.
Zelenskyy has been one of the favourites each year while the Russia/Ukraine war has been ongoing and he is once again sat at the top of the betting market for the award this year.

Alexei Navalny is the Russian opposition leader and someone who has opposed president Vladimir Putin for a number of years now.
Navalny currently sits in a Russian prison on charges that he personally says were made up to keep him out of politics.
Human Rights activist Ilham Tohti has entered his tenth year of detention for advocating for the rights of Uyghurs in China.

Narges Mohammadi was awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize for “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all”.
Mohammadi, in what looks like a running theme for nominated contenders, is also imprisoned for running a human rights movement that campaigned against the abolition of the death penalty in Iran.
The activist has been arrested 13 times and sentenced to 31 years in prison and 154 lashes for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran.
