Danny Cowley is the 5/2 favourite to be the next manager of Port Vale

The betting market is open for the next Port Vale manager and it's Danny Cowley who is the favourite with UK betting sites to take over next following Darrell Clarke's sacking.

Port Vale are without a win in seven games and that's seen them get dragged into the League One relegation fight, sitting just 6 points clear of the relegation places with four games left of the season.

Former Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley seems to be linked with the majority of Football League jobs that come up currently and it's no different with the vacant Port Vale job.

BetVictor say there's a 28% chance that Cowley takes over at Vale next with the former Lincoln City and Huddersfield boss at the top of the betting market.

Next Port Vale Manager Odds Probability

Interim boss Andy Crosby is the 4/1 second favourite to take over permanently next

Andy Crosby has moved up from Darrell Clarke's assistant manager position to the interim manager role with the board putting their trust in him keeping them in League One.

Crosby has previously had a stint as boss of Vale taking over when Clarke was on compassionate leave last season and that saw the team have a run of eight wins in nine games.

It may be that impressive performances and more importantly staying in the division may see Crosby take on the role of Port Vale manager on a permanent basis.
