As quickly as Jodie Whittaker became the first female Dr in the show's history, the chances are when the intergalactic traveller is replaced, it will be back with a male doctor.

That's not to say we can or shouldn't have a lady Doctor, but it is what the bookmakers are predicting with odds being offered on whether the Next Dr. Who will be male of female.

The head of the betting market has Olly Alexander (5/1) and Michael Sheen (9/2) as first and second favourites, whilst the ladies turn up next with Lydia West suddenly flying into the market and becoming the most likely actress ahead of long time top choice Michaela Coel

Next Dr. Who Male or Female Betting Odds

Odds Probability
Male 1.33 (1/3) 75.19%
Female 3.25 (9/4) 30.77%

**Odds probability include bookmakers overround edge - meaning percentages will add up to over 100%, this being the bookies edge - How bookmakers use odds

Both the top man in the betting, Olly Alexander, and the Top Female have starred in It's a Sin, and with Russel T Davies involved again, it would be no surprise to find anyone from the show turning up in the Tardis, the latest rumour has been some involvement for Omari Douglas.

The Male or Female betting market for the next Dr Who is interesting, Jodie Whittaker was received well, but a new Male Doctor is 75% likely according to bookmakers.
