David Tennant features at the top of the market to return as the Doctor
Scottish actor David Tennant shortens in the betting odds to star as the next Doctor Who with OLBG looking at the contenders for the iconic role with Ncuti Gatwa set to leave.
BBC bosses will be looking for a massive appointment for the role next and none are bigger than David Tennant, who starred as the 10th Doctor between 2005-2010 and 14th Doctor in 2022.
Now it may well be that we see another return by Tennant in the next series of Doctor Who with his success in the role arguably the biggest in the recent history of the show.
Other massive names feature in the betting market including The Crown star Josh O’Connor who has also been one of the favourites for James Bond next.
It's A Sin stars Lydia West and Olly Alexander feature in the market after previously working with Russell T Davies on that series.

Reports of show being cancelled were quashed by the BBC
Further reports suggested that it could be the end of Doctor Who although the BBC were quick to dismiss those rumours.
In an interview with the Radio Times, a representative from the BBC stated that “Doctor Who has not been shelved. As we have previously stated, the decision on season 3 will be made after season 2 airs.”
The statement also revealed that there were 26 episodes struck in the deal with Disney for the show to be aired on Disney+ and only 9 have aired so far with an 8 episode series and the 2024 Christmas Special.
