Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes lead the way to replace Phil and Holly on This Morning at 2/1 each
Bookies make Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes the betting favourites to replace under fire presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Phil and Holly have faced massive criticism for skipping the queue to see the late Queen's coffin last week while regular visitors queued for more than 12 hours.
More than 35,000 people had signed a petition for the pair to be sacked from This Morning and William Hill are offering odds on who will replace them on the show.
To replace Phil or Holly as presenter by end of 2022 | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Vernon Kay | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Rochelle Humes | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Dermot O'Leary | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Josie Gibson | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Craig Doyle | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes have presented as a duo on the show in recent weeks and their chemistry together is clear to see.
The candidates at the top end of the betting market are all previous presenters on This Morning on ITV.
It's likely that ITV will go for a replacement that is already comfortable in the role if they do look to change Phil and Holly as main presenters.
Bookies give odds after Phil and Holly's queueing controversy
Tuesday's show had Phil and Holly explaining further detail about the queueing controversy where they were reported to have gone into a VIP entrance.
Speaking on Tuesday's show, Holly explained, "Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists, we were given official permission to access the hall.
"It was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK who haven't been able to visit Westminster in person. The rules were that we would be quickly escorted around the edges to a platform at the back. In contrast, those paying respects walked along a carpeted area beside the coffin and were given time to pause."
Viewers though reacted to this on social media afterwards with some even calling it a 'non-apology'.
Other entertainment specials available on OLBG
ITV are known for their lively entertainment shows and that includes I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! which is due to air in November.
I'm A Celebrity will have a spin-off show next year called I'm A Celebrity All-Stars, which will feature various previous contestants go against each other.
Former winner Georgia Toffolo is the early bookies favourite to win the show at 100/30 with other odds offered for a winner.
