  • Betting is available on whether COVID vaccine will become Mandatory in the UK
  • Odds are low though, with only a 3.33% chance of being forced into immunisation according to bookies
  • Betting market comes as Covid cases in the UK rise by 20% in one week

Some betting sites are offering odds on whether the COVID vaccine will be made mandatory in the UK following a 20% increase in cases in the last week.

Smarkets Exchange has created a betting market, offering odds on the introduction of mandatory jabs for all unvaccinated persons in the UK.

The market is for the remainder of 2022 only, so the decision would have to be made by the end of the year.

Will it become legally mandated to be vaccinated against Covid in England during 2022?

Market Odds Probability
Yes 30 3.33%
No 1.02 97.09%

Chatter around Mandatory Vaccinations has been around for about as long as Covid now, and there was a point when the Government announced that all healthcare staff in England must be fully vaccinated by April 2022.

That proposed requirement of mandatory vaccinations for health and social care staff was revoked on 15 March 2022 and as such there are no mandatory guidelines in place for sectors right now, let alone the entire population.

It looks highly unlikely that mandatory vaccinations will be implemented in the UK and that is reflected in the odds offered by bookmakers at this stage.
