Sadiq Khan is 1/4 favourite with bookmakers to be voted London Mayor for a third time

Betting is available for the London Mayoral Election and it's Sadiq Khan who is the heavy favourite to once again be voted in as London Mayor according to UK Betting Sites.

Khan announced that he will stand for London Mayor once again back in December after he was reselected by the Labour Party.

The current London Mayor was originally elected back in 2016 and is in his second term in office since he replaced Boris Johnson, who was Mayor from May 2008 to May 2016.

William Hill now say there's an 80% chance that Sadiq Khan becomes the first London mayor to serve three terms in office.

Jeremy Corbyn is 8/1 second favourite in the betting market

Reports in the Mail on Sunday back in November suggested that there's a chance that Jeremy Corbyn will run for London Mayor in the next elections.

A close ally to Corbyn said that Corbyn could run and win the election in what would be a massive loss for the Labour party.

Corbyn will run independently if he does end up running in a move which would echo Ken Livingstone's run back in 2000 where he famously ran and won as an independent.

When will the London Mayor election be?

The London Mayoral elections are not expected to be held until May 2024 despite different candidates already putting their name's forward.

For the first time the Mayoral election will use a 'first past the post' system where the voter chooses a single candidate and the winner is simply picked by having the majority.

Zoë Garbett will be the Green Party candidate for the London Mayoral election with the Conservative party not announcing their candidate yet.
