  • Brazilian FA requested a five-day ban for players who failed to turn up to international duty last week
  • Bookmakers odds switched up as star players are possibly out of matches.
  • Leicester betting odds shorten as set to play Man City on Saturday, who are to be without Ederson and Gabriel Jesus
  • Leeds host Liverpool on Super Sunday, with Alisson Becker and Fabinho both missing with bookmakers reacting

The Brazilian FA have requested for bans for players who didn't play for their country last week

Five teams, eight players. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Leeds have all been informed by FIFA that they are unable to select certain players who were called up by the Brazilian FA last week but didn't travel. With Brazil being on the UK's red-list, some Premier League clubs insisted that their players stay with them rather than travel to their international games and have to quarantine.

Despite this, there are hopes that some kind of agreement is in place ahead of this weekend's games, with key players set to miss key games in an important part of the season.

With the Champions League starting next week, it isn't just Premier League football that will be affected. Both Thiago Silva at Chelsea and Fred at Man Utd are set to miss TWO club games in the next week due to their ban.

Leicester odds slashed following this news, with Ederson and Jesus out for Man City

Leicester were as high as 11/2 with some bookies to win against Champions Manchester City this week, but following the reports that certain Brazilian players will be banned from playing they have been slashed by betting sites to 9/2. Manchester City will be without goalkeeper Ederson and with sub keeper Zack Steffen testing positive for COVID-19 during the international break, it means they will have 36 year old Scott Carson in net for this one.

Gabriel Jesus will also not be able to play in this game if the ban is passed and that will be a big loss for City as he has arguably been their best player so far this season, starting on the wing rather than his natural centre forward position.

With 36 year old Scott Carson expected to start in goal for Man City, goals are expected. The only other time he's played in net for them resulted in 3 goals conceded to Newcastle.

Leeds host Liverpool on Sunday with influential players Alisson and Fabinho both set to miss

Leeds will be hoping to capitalise on Liverpool's missing players, with Alisson set to be replaced by Adrian in goal in this game. When that has happened in the past it hasn't gone well, with Adrian at fault for key goals conceded in both the Premier League and Champions League in recent seasons.

The lack of these players for Liverpool has seen Leeds odds tumble down to just 7/2 from 5/1 with betting sites, as bookmakers think that this game will be more contested for the sides. Leeds though will also be without key player Raphina who is also part of the ban from the Brazilian FA.
