  • Any MLS Club is now 11/10 favourite to be De Bruyne's next destination following The Sun's San Diego link
  • Man City remain second favourite to keep De Bruyne at 7/4
  • Saudi Arabia looms at 9/4 but San Diego’s ambition could prove decisive

De Bruyne MLS Move Odds Slashed as San Diego Interest Emerges

Kevin De Bruyne’s odds of heading to Major League Soccer have shortened significantly following a report from The Sun suggesting San Diego FC are interested in bringing the Manchester City star stateside.

Bet365 now list “Any MLS Club” as the 11/10 favourite in market for De Bruyne's next club with a move across the pond reportedly more in the mind of the player ahead of Saudi Arabia.

The Belgian’s current City contract runs until summer 2025, but injuries and growing speculation about a new challenge have sparked fresh market activity.

Many betting sites have also included De Bruyne in their early summer transfer specials, with free bets available too.

What the expert says...
The market is clearly reacting to the San Diego story, and we’ve seen a real shift in sentiment towards an MLS move for De Bruyne. At 11/10 the odds suggest a near 50/50 chance he leaves City for America this summer, with a stateside move now a standout candidate.

Saudi or San Diego?

Saudi Arabian clubs remain firmly in the conversation, with De Bruyne one of several elite European midfielders linked to the Saudi Pro League in recent windows.

The 9/4 price reflects genuine interest but so far there’s been no concrete movement compared to San Diego’s reported ambition.

Bayern Munich, once considered a logical destination for the former Bundesliga star, are drifting at 25/1 with very little credible media talk tying the two together.

A return to Belgium with Gent is priced up at 40/1 but looks like a sentimental longshot.

De Bruyne Could Stay at City

Despite the growing speculation around a move abroad, De Bruyne remaining at Manchester City is still the second-favourite outcome at 7/4, and not without merit.

The Belgian is under contract until June 2025, meaning he could well see out his deal before making any decision on his next chapter.

City’s decision will likely come down to long-term planning if they are to offer De Bruyne a new contract or not.
