James Ward-Prowse now evens to join West Ham in the Summer transfer window

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse is now favourite with bookmakers to join West Ham in the Summer transfer window with reports linking him with a move to the Hammers.

Recent reports in The Sun suggest that West Ham are leading the way to sign the midfielder with a hefty price tag put on the player.

The Saints are rumoured to want £40m for their talisman with the player having been at the club throughout his youth career and professional career too.

TalkSPORT Bet now say there's a 50% chance that Ward-Prowse joins West Ham in the upcoming transfer window as they top of the betting market.

Southampton's captain 5/2 to join Newcastle

Newcastle are second favourites in the betting market to sign James Ward-Prowse and they have been linked with a move for the player in the past.

It may well be though that Newcastle's Champions League qualification changes their transfer situation slightly though with a move for the player off the cards.

ChronicleLive reported that a move for the player could be off because of that qualification but his odds sit at 5/2 to move to Newcastle.

Bookies make Southampton 10/1 to win the Championship next season

Southampton are 10/1 to win the Championship next season as they look to come straight back up to the Premier League following their relegation.

Leicester are the outright favourites to win the next Championship campaign with their squad more than capable of winning the division.

The Saints though may well lose a big chunk of their squad and with Ward-Prowse potentially leaving too they may find it difficult to bounce back.

Championship Winner 23/24 Odds Probability
Leicester 5/1 16.7%
Leeds 11/2 15.4%
Middlesbrough 10/1 9.1%
Southampton 10/1 9.1%
Ipswich 14/1 6.7%
What the expert says..
Southampton are 10/1 to win the Championship next season with the club looking to bounce back to the Premier League!
