Leicester midfielder James Maddison is now 7/4 with bookies to move to Newcastle in January despite reports that the transfer is “highly unlikely".
The latest rumours around any signing come from Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards who says Maddison remains of interest to Newcastle.
The Magpies had multiple bids rejected for Maddison in the Summer with Leicester hoping to tie the midfielder down to a new contract.
There has not been a contract agreed yet though and with Leicester reportedly struggling financially they may end up needing to sell.

Tottenham are reportedly still interested in signing James Maddison but bookies give them just a 9% chance of making the signing this January.
Recent sources told Football Insider that Maddison would "jump at the chance" of signing for Tottenham with the midfielder's reputation soaring this season.
Maddison has been a regular starter for Leicester and made his way into Gareth Southgate's England squad for the Qatar World Cup.
The signing of Maddison by Newcastle was rumoured to be part of a double swoop with his Leicester teammate Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans is 5/1 to join Arsenal this January with that transfer reported throughout the Summer transfer window.
Bookies haven't even priced up a move for Tielemans to join Newcastle such was the surprise of the rumour.
Liverpool and Manchester United wrap up Tielemans January move odds at 8/1 and 10/1 respectively.
