Avatar 2 now the evens favourite with bookies to be the highest grossing film of 2022!

Avatar 2, the sequel to James Cameron's Box Office Hit Avatar, is now the bookmaker's favourite in the odds to be the highest grossing film of 2022.

The first film proved to be extremely popular, in what was a defining movie for 3D cinema, kicking off a new way of watching films across the world.

Fast forward 13 years on from Avatar's release and the sequel is set to come out around the holiday period at the end of the year.

Highest Grossing Film Worldwide 2022
Odds Probability
Avatar 2 EVS 50.0%
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
6/4 40.0%
Thor: Love and Thunder 6/1 14.3%
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 6/1 14.3%
Jurassic World: Dominion 10/1 9.1%
Top Gun: Maverick 16/1 5.9%

Superhero films tend to smash Box Office figures and the latest Spider-Man film released towards the end of 2021 proved that spectacularly.

The latest Doctor Strange film is set to hit $900m in total box office figures within the next month, making it the highest grossing film of 2022 so far.

This points to why the movie is just 6/4 to be the most successful film of the year.

Avatar 2 is now the evens favourite to be the highest grossing film of the year, with movie goers waiting for the sequel to the mega hit Avatar for 13 years now!

Top Gun: Maverick a surprise box office hit so far, but still 16/1 to be highest grossing

The latest Tom Cruise film, Top Gun: Maverick, has been a surprise success so far at the box office.

The movie has been Tom Cruise's best ever opening, with over $160m made in the first weekend of it's release.

Looking to surpass $200m in the next week or so, the film has smashed Cruise's record by over $100m.

It's still got a long way to go though to get near Doctor Strange's current $900m figure.

Top Gun: Maverick has exceeded expectations massively box office wise, but remains the 16/1 outsider with bookies to be the highest grossing movie of the year!
