Schofield was sacked by ITV following an affair with a member of staff
Speculation around Schofield's private life ramped up throughout the start of 2023 before eventually he announced his departure from This Morning on 20 May of that year.
Schofield gave a statement to the Daily Mail where he admitted that he had an affair with a teenage male while also apologising for lying to colleagues, employers, the media and public.
"I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife," his statement included.
I'm A Celebrity and Big Brother on rumoured shows he could appear on
Now it looks increasingly likely that Schofield's new Cast Away show is to see how the public reacts to him reappearing on British television and any sort of positivity will likely see him comeback on bigger platforms.
The former British Soap Awards present of course may decide to stay on smaller channels and Channel 5 could have him on a bigger deal.
It's no surprise though to see rumours linking him to both I'm A Celebrity and Celebrity Big Brother though further down the line with controversial figures appearing on both shows previously.
