Kalvin Phillips is set to feature for Man City tonight and prove his fitness to Gareth Southgate

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is 4/9 to make Gareth Southgate's 26-man England World Cup Squad with reports that the England manager may take the risk.

Phillips has been out injured since shoulder surgery in September but is due to feature for Man City against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup tonight.

Bookies say that there's a 69% chance now that Phillips goes to Qatar this month but there will be pressure around his return this evening.

Phillips teammate Kyle Walker is also one with a chance of going to the World Cup despite having groin surgery just last month.

Reece James is out to 10/1 to go to the World Cup after reports say he will be left out

Chelsea defender Reece James is expected to miss the World Cup with Gareth Southgate reportedly telling him he won't be named in the squad.

James knee ligament injury picked up against AC Milan last month was expected to rule him out of that squad and that's to be confirmed on Thursday's announcement.

The full back was confident of being fit for the knockout rounds of the tournament but the gamble on his fitness would be too much for Southgate.
