Elon Musk has reportedly changed his mind about buying Twitter with 23/20 odds he becomes CEO of Twitter this year

Billionaire businessman Elon Musk has reportedly done a surprise u-turn and changed his mind about buying Twitter, with bookies giving odds of 23/20 he becomes CEO of the company this year.

Both Musk and Twitter are due in court in the next few weeks but Musk has written to Twitter to agree to pay the price that he offered months ago before pulling out of the deal.

Smarkets now make it a 46% chance that Musk becomes Twitter CEO at any point in 2022 with the odds tumbling down from the 16/1 he was just two days ago.

Will Elon Musk become Twitter CEO in 2022? Odds Probability
Yes 23/20 46.5%
No 4/11 73.3%

Bookies still make it 4/11 that Musk doesn't become Twitter CEO before the end of the year, but that may purely be down to the amount of time we have before the year ends.

If reports are to be believed, Twitter will accept the takeover by Elon Musk with Musk saying the takeover "is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app."

There is still mystery around the X app, with no one really knowing what the service will be that Musk is planning as part of his Twitter takeover.

Bookies now give odds of 23/20 that Elon Musk becomes Twitter CEO at some point in 2022 after reports state that the businessman's takeover is BACK ON!

Further Elon Musk specials around his next potential takeover offers

Elon Musk will always be linked with takeover deals for massive companies with the reported richest man in the world having a huge net worth to spend.

According to Forbes, Musk has a $237.8b net worth and this could well be spent investing in numerous companies.

It's as high as 25/1 that he takes over Amazon, with the same odds given for Musk to go for another social media platform in Facebook.

It may well be that after buying Twitter, Musk tries to dip his hand in other social media companies.

Elon Musk could well look at other companies to takeover despite the Twitter deal looking back on, with bookies giving 25/1 that a Facebook takeover will also happen at some point in the future.
