Busy Andy Burnham Betting Odds of just 7/2 to Succeed Keir Starmer as Labour Leader

I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • 27% likelihood of Manchester Mayor taking over from Current Party Leader according to betting odds
  • No denial of party leadership ambitions, he is as busy as Starmer at the party conference
  • Angela Rayner still 4/1 2nd favourite with bookmakers after 'Scum' slur

The current betting odds on the next Labour leader after Keir Starmer have Andy Burnham blazing a trail as the clear favourite, and he is no shrinking violet this week at the Labour Party conference in Brighton as he takes up no fewer than 11 speaking positions at fringe events.

Next Labour Leader Betting Odds

Next Labour Leader Odds Probability
Andy Burnham 5/2 28.57%
Angela Rayner 4/1 20%
Lisa Nandy 10/1 9%
Yvette Cooper 16/1 6%
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has a busy week at the Party Conference in Brighton with 11 speaking events and still harbours ambitions of leadership. Bookmakers have him 5/2 favourite to replace Keir Starmer

Whilst the Greater Manchester Mayor who left parliament to take up the mayoral role has not outwardly said he has ambitions of leading the party, he hasn't denied a desire either, and he is not afraid of challenging the party on range of issues and angles this week.

Some of his points have included

  • Wrong time for Starmer to change party rules
  • Labour is becoming to 'London-centric, alienating northern voters
  • The community should be the focus of the party

He has been received with mixed feelings, may have some support but the vocals but has certainly rattled Sadiq Khan with his 'London' comments.

Rayner Ramps It Up

2nd favourite with betting sites to become the next leader of the Labour Party is Angela Rayner and if we didn't know it already, she is not one to mince her words, after allegedly calling out 'Tory Scum' earlier this weekend at a conference event.

She hasn't stopped there. On Monday after calls for her to apologize, she tweeted repeated accusations of Boris Johnson making 'racist, homophobic and sexist' remarks to bring it to the fore once again.

Bookmakers 2nd favourite to become the next Labour leader at 4/1 has been heard loud and clear on recent comments but has had it pointed out to her that she may be doing more harm than good to potential Labour Voters who have some sympathies with select Tory values by calling them Scum
Nigel Skinner - Political Betting Expert - OLBG.com

If she was looking for column inches, it has worked, if she is looking for support within the party, it is questionable she has succeeded after Starmer said it was "not the language I would have used" whilst conservative Party Co-Chair has highlighted "Voters have heard the message loud and clear from Labour conference: if they support Conservative values or this government they are 'scum'.
