The Super Mario Bros. Movie is now odds-on to be the highest grossing film of 2023 worldwide after crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box office this week.
UK Betting Sites have instantly slashed the odds of the movie leading the way at the Box Office after the report from Variety stating it's massive success since it's release at the start of April.
Box Office Mojo now puts the film at a global figure of $1,026,376,630 and it shows no sign of stopping with the film continuing with it's huge success.
Paddy Power now make the movie the odds-on favourite to top the global box office by the end of the year with the market completely changing in recent weeks.

Bookmakers have had Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as the favourite to be the highest grossing movie at the Box Office this year but that has changed drastically in the past month.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now out to 7/1 in the betting market with just a 12% chance to be the highest grossing movie according to those betting odds.
The Marvel movie releases this week so we'll have a better picture of how the Box Office looks in the upcoming weeks but it's expected to be a tough fight to topple the Super Mario Bros. Movie at the top spot.

The latest film in the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast X, is now 6/1 in the betting market ahead of it's release date later this month.
The Fast franchise is one of the longest running and most successful movie franchises of all-time and its latest release Fast X will look to continue that run.
Figures wise the highest grossing Fast movie is Furious 7 which had a worldwide gross of $353m back in 2015 and it's going to take something much larger than that to be top at the Box Office.
With a budget of $340m the movie needs a big performance at the Box Office to make a profit.
