Christmas Number One

Postby LustForLeith » Sat Dec 03, 2016 8:00 pm

Just wrote a blog on Christmas Number One this year in a race which I think will be very crowded. I'm going for Friends Of Jo Cox and a cover of The Rolling Stones 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'. It's being released just in time for the Christmas race, got a lot of popular names on it like Ricky Wilson and David Gray and it's for a cause that's units the country.

Friends Of Jo Cox Christmas Number One 6/1 bet365

I think it's safe to say in a post-compact disc world that winners of 'The X Factor' are going to find it more difficult to land the the Christmas number one slot. Last year, Louisa Johnson only managed tenth.

It's now mercy to charity records and the occasional viral thing (the only one that worked was Rage Against The Machne's 'Killing In The Name Of...').

It's Friends of Jo Cox, the London Hospices single (have no idea what it is) or possibly whatever Gareth Malone has cobbled up as a charity record if he has one. James Corden who CANNOT sing shouldn't be a factor this year.

Hmmm. The latest odds from William Hill...

It seems like a battle of the One Direction duets is brewing and that charity records are gonna be victim to it.

Saw this, it's going to be interesting.

I'm still hopeful that Freinds Of Jo Cox can do it!

First Agree me to, I'm still hopeful that Freinds Of Jo Cox can do it!

Notice Terry Wogan in betting at 40/1 is it that dance song he did, yes not bad if is that one!!

No chance.. Noticed to Cruz Beckham can t sing either, and at 10/1 is lol..
Id would rather have Slade Merry Xmas one and that was and still is best
Xmas song of all time  well for me anyway...
Yes superb songs in 70s and 80s to..

The odds as they are right now this Saturday afternoon:

Clean Bandit? Seriously!? Ugh. It'd be the first time in a long while that a single was number one the previous week and still was number one come Christmas chart week.

Meanwhile over on the Betfair forums...they're ramping the living hell out of some act called Liv N G.

The odds as they right now at William Hil:

Image

Clean Bandit fairly heavy odds-on now at 8/1 ON with Rag N Bone Man a distant second favourite at 11/2.

A bizarre set of circumstances...who hasn't downloaded the Clean Bandit single if they wanted it by now!? I don't get Rag N Bone Man...the 2017 Hozier.

Clean Bandit...destined to be an obscure answer on 'Pointless' and saved from having an even lower profile then they already do amongst the other mindnumbingly high number of anonymous male collectives that pass themselves off as musical groups these days by having a reasonably photogenic female in their midst.

The taste of those who download or stream music these days is wretched.
