Betting Exchanges

With Betfair growing we realise that new members to OLBG may be unsure on the complexities of exchange betting. On OLBG we have a whole Betting Trading and Exchange Forum where any questions members have on exchanges can be answered by other members.
Another route to learning about the Exchanges is to check out the Exchange Blogs.OLBG member Davidg3907 is an expert on the vagaries of exchange betting and is always willing to help other members.

F1 Betting

The F1 season starts at the end of March. Ralfie1982 normally covers the season with individual race blogs. He has asked what members would like to read on these forthcoming blogs. Please help him out by replying HERE.

OLBG has just celebrated 14 years as the most helpful betting site in the world but did you know we started life as the Online Betting Guide? The site has always been about guiding and helping bettors improve their betting, one of the ways we achieve this is pooling and sharing members knowledge.

You can see this in action all over the site, an example of this is the approach threads where we ask members their approach to betting on a particular sport. One of the most popular is What is your approach to betting on Golf? where golf bettors share their knowledge. With the Golf majors on the horizon why not help others by adding your approach.

Horse Racing

First up and opening the Horse Racing Community Round Up is an urgent request for members to add their best Cheltenham Tip to the New Format - Your Best Cheltenham Poster Tip thread. By adding your best tip to the thread your comments may be chosen to feature on the Cheltenham posters. The posters are strategically placed at the course advertising OLBG members horse racing knowledge.

Some big wins this week for many horse racing tipsters.

Pompeybuster12 FLECKERL @ 14/1 (Lingfield 22/2/16)
“This is one of those races that is very easy for me to assess as I have a stand out on the book that in effect is a mortal lock , the flipside of this being that many of these can improve and I gave up trying to measure improvement a long time ago as the bias that exists both in the mind and via the media make it almost impossible to subjectively measure likely improvement if no value exists simply on the book, pricing a race is difficult as it is without trying to put a theoretical value on likely ability. What I do know is that FLECKERL produced a performance here on the 20th January in similar company 1lb lower than the line he meets today, I think that makes him plain wrong at 14/1 as if this race was run a hundred times I think he would quite rationally win more than the 7 running's this price suggests he would.”
Mrjolson MARY LE BOW @ 12/1 (Wolverhampton 22/2/16)
“Course and distance winner who has been running over a trip too far of late. Her last two starts at 12f have ended with successive 6th place finishes at Wolverhampton & Lingfield. Now drops back to 9f and is 1lb lower than when a close 3rd to Pactolus over C&D in December. Callum Shepherd well worth his 5lb claim and should go well back at this distance.”
Ramsfan101 BANGKOK PETE @ 20/1 (Ascot 20/2/16)
“Was a 14 length 2nd behind Baywing lto at Uttoxeter who was completing his hat trick that day and even went on to complete the 4 timer the race after. That form is impressive really and Baywing runs in the 425 at Haydock so unfortunately no pre-race form clue in that respect but there's enough about this race to suggest that Bangkok Pete is destined to win soon and chances are with the amount of pace in the race that his style of coming late and fast could well play perfectly into his hands. Mattie bachelor can steer this one home off bottom weight”

The big game in the Premier League is Man Utd v Arsenal and olbg tipster Rachace thinks it will be all square for teams who in recent weeks have been very hit and miss.
“Arsenal suffered an expected defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League midweek so that result has made this game even more significant as winning the Premier League title is the only thing that'll make up for yet another disappointing Champions League campaign. However Man Utd equally need the points if they're to close the gap to just 3 points to 4th placed Man City and Louis Van Gaal will no doubt be preparing his side to be very competitive against a side that have the better players at their disposal. Arsenal managed to beat Man Utd 3-0 earlier in the season but the previous 5 Premier League meetings between the two sides have been very tight. 3 have finished as a draw and the other two were narrow 1 goals margin victories for Man Utd. This has the feel of a hangover kind of game after midweek European games and a draw seems likely to me.”

The One A Day football competition has been running for more years than i can remember. Members add their selections daily and at the end of the month the winners win forum cash. Why not give it a go in March?
We also have the small matter of the first domestic cup to be settled this season as Liverpool take on Man City at Wembley in the Capital One Cup Final. Brilliant commentator Delboy980 favours the Reds.
Liverpool "Liverpool have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 1 of their last 5 matches played, and sit 8th in the Premiership with 38 points, winning their last match played in the UEL 1-0 at home against Augburg. Man City have won 2 and lost 3 of their last 5 matches played, and sit 4th in the Premiership with 47 points, winning their last match played in the UCL 1-3 away against Dynamo Kyiv. This is the final of the League Cup , with both teams struggling in the semi-final. Both teams lost at home in the Liverpool v Soke 0-1 with Liverpool going through on Penalties. In the Everton v Man City both teams won at home 2-1 3-1 with Man City going through 4-3 on agg. This is played at Wembley so no home or away advantage in this game. Liverpool have won the last 2 meeting against Man City 2-1 and 1-4, I am taking Liverpool to be lifting this Cup at the end of this match.”

Online Betting

How do you stay disciplined with Online Betting? The Bookmakers odds are much better online and if you want to take your betting seriously then online is much better than visiting the bookies where the odds are often much worse, + you don't have a full choice of markets.
There is plenty of good advice from OLBG members on this recent forum thread . For further info take a visit to the OLBG Betting School where we have lessons on all aspects of betting that can help you stay disciplined and within your limits.
