The Oaklawn Park racetrack first opened in 1905 but only lasted until being closed in 1907, nine years later (1906) the track was reopened.

The racecourse has continued to open and close over the years but has become a fan favourite in more recent times voted a fifth-best track in the US just a few years ago.

It is located in Hot Springs, Arkansas and is most famous for American Pharoah winning both the Rebel Stakes & Arkansas Derby here in 2015 before going on to win the triple crown.

The racecourse features a one-mile oval dirt track which includes a 6f chute on the back straight and is one of the very few tracks which does not feature a turf track.
