The Fair Grounds racecourse has been in operation since 1872 and is the third-oldest racetrack in the US.

A complete rebuild took place in 1947 to put in place what we have today.

In 1993 a fire destroyed the grandstand but the racecourse reopened just 19 days later.

The track, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is often referred to as the New Orleans Fair Grounds racecourse.

The outer dirt course is a one-mile oval while the inner turf course is a seven-furlong oval.
