5f over CD favors those drawn low and coming from behind. There's a hell of a lot of pace on here, having only The Man and Squealer who haven't either front run or sat prominent of late. Should be a big pace collapse and should favor these runners anyway. Highly tried last season, running in 2 Group races and a Listed race here since debut win. Wind surgery since then returned to action over CD when easily winning 2.25L from Loom. Up 8lbs for that but has been kept off since to preserve his mark and should be coming here with a big chance. Ground will suit.

This horse ran a fine race when 2nd last time out at Windsor. Still looks fairly handicapped and if getting the breaks may prove hard to beat in a typically competitive heat.

Got Mojo back for move to Ruth Carr this season. Won at York & Glorious Goodwood last two runs and goes for the hat trick today, up another 6 lb but still lower than a rating of 102 he had last year. Great each way chance with 5 places on offer.

So Rarely runs a bad race at York, winning this race from a mark of 93 in 2022 and not finishing outside the top 6 in five big handicap starts here since the start of 2024, including 6th in this last year from 91. He won three starts back and has followed it up with two more placed efforts which have seen his mark climb back to 93. He's looked as good as ever this season, even as a 7-year-old, and although there's lots of competition for the pace, I think it'll pay to be ridden handy in the first race at York this week.

The 3yo has 1 win from 5. Not disgraced in a Listed contest on his third start, giving weight away to some useful-looking fillies. Unlucky to lose by a neck on his next start. Heavy ground not helping last time out. Every chance in this 5.5f handicap off his current mark. Open to plenty more improvement and he won't need much to be a player. He's shown plenty of early speed in his races, drawn very high, and he could grab a rail to help his chances.

25/1 looks a crazy price for this class 2 C&D winner. That was admittedly as a 2yo, but this 4yo has run some good races since. That C&D win puts him really well in here off 86 since the win was an easy one, and there were stacks of future winners further back, including future Listed winner Kylian. I like the jockey switch too, and the horse looks a cracking E/W at this price.
