Paul Nicholls' 5-year-old was a strong stayer on the flat for Sir Mark Prescott, and I expect improvement now he's upped to 2m 4f. He was third in a decent race over 2m at Plumpton 26 days ago and has been dropped 5lb in two runs over hurdles.

Twice a winner over hurdles, and one of those over further here 5 months ago. Not seen a hurdle since the end of June, but neither have the majority of the field. However, he does have the benefit of a recent pipe-opener on the flat at Chester at the end of August.

Many of these runners are returning from breaks, including Dargianini, a 10-year-old CD winner who has won twice after a break and gone close on another occasion. With the stable in good form, he is likely to be ready to go today. He has his ideal trip and ground, and the form he has backs up the claims. Double-figure odds allow an EW bet.

Has bits and pieces of decent form. Certainly capable on her day of winning a race like this. Always runs her race. Is bottom weight in this handicap, but I'm sure she is very capable of better. Conditions fine, track should be fine. Yard having a good start to the season. Should run a solid race for sure.
