Educate has recently joined the Goldie yard and turned to AW racing. In three runs (all here) has come second over three different distances between 10 and 16 furlongs. Obviously likes the surface and is versatile in terms of distance. Back over the 10 furlongs today for an impressive apprentice who was a close second here two races ago over that CD.

Woodleigh (IRE) is a 4-year-old gelding trained by Roger Fell & Sean Murray, running off an official mark of 57 with Kevin Stott booked. He’s been in steady form on the all-weather recently, including a fair run here at Newcastle last time where he travelled well for most of the race before just flattening out late on. That effort suggested he’s not far away, and the return to this mile 2 trip looks the right call for him. He moves well on Tapeta, and this track tends to suit his style of settling early and building into the race. Stott is a strong booking and usually rides Fell’s horses with confidence around here.

RAMPANT will probably benefit from the drop in trip and I think connections have opted to give him another chance a couple of days after a mis-fire here because they believe he has a run in him. We've got another longstanding maiden but there are each-way claims and he's no stranger to placing here at Newcastle.
