This one has been thriving of late, winning 4 times and placing in another 6 from his last 10 races over 10 to 14.5f. He goes up only 1 lb after his latest 2nd but is 9 lb higher than his last win. Given his progressive nature, he could get involved in the finish again.

Regal Ulixes won a Class 2 Novice Stakes on his second and final start as a juvenile and followed up on his seasonal debut at Doncaster on June 24. He was then thought good enough to run in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot. He faded quickly there and was absent for seven months after; it's likely he picked up an injury in running. He was strongly fancied on his return at Newcastle last month but ran too free and eventually finished sixth. He is down 1 lb here, and if he settles better, he could show the ability his yard clearly thinks he has.

Won over course and distance in a similar Class 2 affair on penultimate start and will welcome the return to this grade having raced in a Listed race over course and distance last time out when 3rd of 5 beat 2.25 lengths.

Wyld Bill is an 'on-pace' runner. In Lingfield middle-distance races, horses that can sit near the lead often have a tactical advantage because the short home straight makes it difficult for 'closers' (like Beylerbeyi) to make up significant ground.

A very difficult race to assess. Many have claims, and there are more obvious choices than DMR. However, he's more than capable in C2 races on the all-weather from his current mark. Yes, he was behind a couple of these on his comeback run, but if stepping forward from that, with the jockey taking off a useful 5 lb, he could be in the mix here. He's the value bet in this race for me, but I'd suggest looking for firms paying four places each way.

Flight Plan has only had one win on the AW and it was a long time ago. Although pants in Maydan for three runs last month, he did get a win on turf last May in a C2 off a 102 and could be worth a shot off today’s 96 EW

Hasn't won for a while but has slipped down the weights as a result and ran well when 3rd off this mark over course and distance on only his second all-weather start earlier this month. Something similar should put him bang there this afternoon.

Draw just about OK. Should find this more to his liking than a run on the snow at St. Moritz LTO. Has two wins at Epsom to his name, with that course having similar characteristics to here.

This race looks a more open affair than it seems at first glance, with a few in with a chance. Kings Code is top-rated and the top weight, but he knows how to win and is getting better with age. Trainer David Evans knows how to win these decent handicaps, and this one should not be underestimated.

Has a good draw in 3 and I would not be surprised to see this one up his game here to take a Class 2. Neck second in a Hamilton Class 3 off a pound higher back in August looks fine. That was over a furlong shorter, but run on soft and that course is much stiffer than this.
